As part of the NHS Employment Check Standards we are required for all flexible workers to carry out a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
If you are not a member of the update service you will need to complete the DBS application, it will only take you 5 minutes but if you have lived in multiple locations then it may a take a little longer.
Whilst completing the DBS application please take below into consideration:
Explanation of Statuses
Submitting Form: Please complete Disclosure & Barring Service application form.
No Consent Given: Your DBS form has been submitted but no consent was given to Disclosure & Barring service to share your details with NHSP electronically. Please log back into your DBS account to give consent, if not please request a DBS paper application form from us.
Verify Documentary Evidence: We are currently verifying your DBS application form and the documentation you provided.
Information Requested: You will need to provide more information on your DBS application form or more documentation will need to be provided.
Verify Check Level: We are confirming the level of DBS check required (Standard / Enhanced).
CounterSign: We are reviewing your application and documents before submitting to the Disclosure & Barring service.
Queued: Your application has been submitted to Disclosure & Barring service. We are waiting for DBS to start completing the necessary checks.
Waiting for Reply: Disclosure & Barring service are reviewing your application.
Completed Submission Form: Thank you for completing your Disclosure & Barring Service application form.
Completed: Certificate not Available: You have been issued with a DBS Certificate please send this to NHS Professionals Compliance Department (compliance@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk).
Completed: Certificate Available: DBS Process completed. You do not need to do anything as we have obtained Disclosure Certificate details.
Submission Rejected: DBS submission has been rejected.
